Private Client Solicitor Vacancy
As part of our expansion plans, we are now looking for an enthusiastic and driven Private Client Solicitor to join our firm in Congleton.
About us and what we offer
We are a specialist private client firm committed to providing our clients with high levels of service and expertise. We act for a wide range of people including business owners, people with cross border issues and professionals such as doctors and other solicitors, usually partners or retired partners of law firms. Our clients typically have assets of between £500,000 and £4m.
We are a close-knit team of four and work closely with each other to achieve the right results for our clients. Our focus is on building long term relationships with our clients and we offer a highly personalised service where the same solicitor will act for them throughout their relationship with Spall Clark. This means you will get to really know your clients and be able to make a real difference to them.
We offer interesting and varied work. Recent work has included:
- Complex probate matters with issues such as double grossing, interpretation of homemade wills and assets in multiple jurisdictions
- Cross border Deputyship application
- Wills for clients with assets in the EU, USA and Australia.
- Wills and succession planning for clients with estates worth around £2m.
We are a modern, dynamic practice and our small size means we can implement any changes quickly and efficiently. We are not stuffy or corporate in our approach and respect each other’s ability and expertise regardless of job title. We operate a ‘paper light’ office and use technology to assist us wherever possible to allow our solicitors to focus most of their time where it counts, advising clients and building relationships.
Building links with our community and other businesses is an essential part of our identity. We are very proud of the support we provide to our community, which is why we offer our staff dedicated days to support charities and local organisations.
- Opportunity to develop an area of interest and specialism
- Opportunity to develop and manage referral relationships
- Funding available for STEP courses and other specialist qualifications
- Working commitment of five days per week (full time) or four days a week (pro-rata)
- Salary dependent upon experience
- Training allowance to help you to progress in your role
- 5% pension contribution
- Contractual maternity and paternity pay policies
- Parking permit
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (full time hours) with holiday allowance increasing with length of service
- 4 days paid per year to volunteer with charities and community organisations
- Guaranteed days off on your birthday and your children’s birthdays
- Three days in the office and up to two days working from home
- A degree of flexibility with working hours
- Paper light office (as far as possible)
- Regular supervision and personal development meetings
- Open door policy where issues can be raised
