We are a boutique private client law firm based in Cheshire. We have a modern approach to providing legal services whilst maintaining a traditional approach to client care. Our practice is continuing to grow and whilst we operate a ‘virtual’ law firm where staff mostly work from home, they will very soon have the option to work from our office in Congleton. We also operate a paperless office using case management systems and cloud based storage.

A significant portion of our client base is made up of high net worth clients and we deal with a wide variety of matters from traditional straightforward wills to complex international estate planning. Our client base includes business owners and professionals including fellow solicitors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Solicitor to join our firm. We are committed to excellence and we are looking for someone who shares our ethos about delivering exceptional levels of client care. We want someone who understands the value of professional organisations such as the Law Society and the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a full range of private client work, be able to work autonomously (with support) and will be committed to growing the business and their own career development. Ideally, you will be a full member of STEP or willing to work towards this. You will have connections with other professional advisors and be able to utilise them to develop new work. IT and technology should be seen as tools that are there to enhance your ability to carry out your role rather than a necessary evil.

Many of our clients like to be seen in their home or at our office and so the idea candidate will live within a commutable distance of Congleton (e.g. in Cheshire or North Staffordshire) and have good knowledge of and connections to the local area.


You will be a Solicitor (England and Wales) with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. Ideally you will be STEP qualified and you will have practical experience in the following areas:

  • Wills
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Probate and Estate Administration
  • Inheritance Tax planning

  • Must be able to drive and have own vehicle available for business use to visit clients

You will manage your own caseload covering a full range of private client work including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Estate Administration. You will provide support to the managing director on complex matters such as international estate planning and cross border probate matters.

Part of our ethos is that clients have their own solicitor and you will therefore be responsible for managing the relationship with your clients from the very start of their journey with us. You will become their point of contact whenever they instruct our firm or if they require recommendations for other professional services.

You will be expected to build and maintain relationships through networking with other professionals such as solicitors, accountants and financial advisors. This is a key part of your role and every member of staff is expected to play their part in generating new business through networking and other means.


  • Working commitment of 40 hours a week with complete flexibility as to the days worked
